I’m very excited to share the result of a recent collaboration with my friend Vikas Chander. Our subject is the fascinating NGC 474 galaxy group, captured from the Obstech Observatory in Chile using Vikas’ Planewave CDK 24 telescope, paired with a Moravian C5A-100 mono camera and Chroma LRGB filters.
With over 20 hours of integration, this image reveals the delicate tidal structures surrounding NGC 474 with its faint, ghostly shells and interactions with neighbouring galaxies NGC 470 and NGC 467.
